This movie started with a scene of a couple. They were promising to meet at  the cathedral in Florence after 10 years. But the soundtrack was so depressed, as if this promise would not be accomplished and they would break up in 10 years. So at this point, the filmmaker introduced its purpose very well. This movie captured viewer’s interest by mixing depressed and fun music and emphasizing the defference of Florence and Tokyo.  People in Florence, they try to maintain their old  town . On the other hand, People in Tokyo, they always seek future, like new building, trend. I think the motive of  this movie is past, present and future.After they broke up, both of them couldn’t forget each other, and they were obsessed by the past and anxious for the future, because they didn’t want to see the fact; they broke up completely. However , the big problem of this movie is that the filmmaker cut a lot of transition . So it is difficult to interpret the movie without reading book of this movie. That’s why people who watched only the movie feel bored.
